We can tick one thing off the list for the week - doing a good deed. Had a couple from Geelong turn up at South Durras Big 4 who were not experienced caravan reversers. Trent was asked if he would mind reversing the caravan into position beside us. Not expecting anything more than a thank you, we were given a nice bottle of red wine.

Have had some amazing mornings here, waking to sunshine but the afternoons have turned overcast and cool. The wind is pretty brutal late in the afternoon. We have been hoping to have a fire but it has been to windy so tonight is the night! The pig is off the roof and ready to be lit up! Nothing better than a camp fire!

Trent has only managed one swim in the ocean this week as there have been many bluebottles around which is not too nice if stung. We have however walked as far as we can go - dogs are not permitted all the way as there are bird nesting sites along the shore line up to the lake mouth. Water is crystal clear, wouldn't say it was overly warm but it is refreshing all the same.

We have also had plenty of local visitors each evening.

As we are staying at a caravan park, we wanted to put a small mention in. The staff, Steve, Tray and Leah are great. Very friendly, willing to answer any questions and have a chat. Tray welcomed us back when we arrived on Friday as this is not our first stay here. We wanted to go somewhere we already knew and love first up.

The park is 6km off the Princes Highway surrounded by the Murramarang National Park - well three sides at least with the ocean a short walk across the road. We were last here in March/April and can see some great changes. The trees have been trimmed back from near the puppy and ensuite sites, new matting and caravan pads have been laid in the same area. It has tidied it up and made it lovely and flat. There are of course concrete pads in other parts of the park. Some permanent sites are also around the park. It is really quiet here, so much so you hear the ocean all day long.

There is a nice swimming pool for a quick dip, toilets are clean and tidy - hot water is hot hot! Showers are requested to be kept to 3 minutes. As most of the water comes from a bore, it is recommended to boil or seek water from the kitchen or other parts of the park for drinking. Water is also trucked in from Batemans Bay when they run low in the tanks dotted around the park.

We love this place a recommend everyone to come and visit when passing through.
