Day tripping

We left Lake Durras behind and took a scenic tour to Bega where we decided to stay in the showgrounds for a few days to catch up on washing and do a some day trips. On the way we stopped at a few places - Tuross Heads, Dalmeny, Narooma and Central Tilba.

Tuross Heads was a short drive off the Prices Highway but it was stunning. There is a lake on the way in with a caravan park (not puppy friendly) and a river. The puppy friendly caravan park is right on the beach. Stunning views here and great coffee/hot chocolate and yes that is important! The water here was crystal clear, blue/green and just vibrant even on a cloudy day.

From here we followed the coast around to a small town called Dalmeny. The camping ground is council run and is on prime real estate. The views down over the water are magic. Plenty of places to do a spot of whale watching here and a ice location to just sit back and chill. We would have stayed here but had already decided Bega was going to be our next location.

We popped into Narooma, checking out the caravan park, again right on the water but it is on sloping ground here. The golf course runs almost through the park. Nice little café nearby and also a great patrolled beach!

Moving away from the coast we took a drive into Central Tilba. A historic village that took us back in time. It was very quaint and had lots of great shops and a nice pub where some locals played old timer jazz out on the verandah! A place definitely worth a visit just not with a caravan or camper trailer!!
