Whale Watching Tathra

We took a day trip to Tathra and were lucky enough to spot a few whales playing off shore. The day before our neighbours had told us a whale and calf had been in the bay resting and came right past the wharf where many people were fishing and had to reel in their lines to let them past. We weren't this lucky to seen any in the bay or by the wharf but did spend a good half an hour watching them frolick offshore.
We both count ourselves lucky to have seen so many whales during this time and although we weren't up close it still is a magically site to see. Georgia of course was not so impressed but did manage to make friends with some kids whilst we just watched and took it all in. A local boat was up very close and personal with one whale. It looked from where we were it was going to jump right into the boat!!
Tathra is a beautiful spot all on the cliff tops. There are plenty of National Parks around to camp as well if you prefer to be off grid. We did check some out but as we have Georgia we can not stay in them without putting her into boarding. The local pub is currently undergoing some major restoration and will look amazing for the summer punters.
We did briefly pop into the Bega Cheese Historic Centre - personally we were disappointed in what we saw. We tried some cheese and left. It was disappointing as it had not history of Bega or the cheese.
