Well after a very exciting setup - fly end poles flying through the air and lots of frantic running to rescue a variety of items - we just got setup before the heavens erupted, pouring rain and even more howling wind!
The camper was expertly tied down with as many ropes and pegs we could find! The sun did again come out so we did our campground reconnaissance checking out the vans and park.

The park is massive, one of the biggest we have ever stayed at. It has great views across the inlet to the beach. Lots of beautiful walking tracks here to secluded beaches along the coastline. We would highly recommend the Mallacoota Foreshore Park. It is undergoing some facility renovations but they are great as they are. You can also moor your boat here and pay extra for a waterfront site. We have a site in the overflow with inlet and ocean glimpses!
The following morning we woke to beautiful sunshine but a cool breeze. The sound of the waves crashing had relented some too.
We decided we would take a drive along the dirt tracks and check things out stopping at Quarry beach, Secret Beach, Bekta Beach and down to the boat ramp.
The beaches were stunning, each different to the one before. Small and secluded and some a short walk down the cliff. Wow was all we could say at times. All the beaches are dog friendly on lead which is great for Georgia- never left behind! Today we also did the Bekta river loop and part of the Mallacoota Coastal Walk way - stunning views is all we can say. This place is magic with all the available walkways and swimming spots. For us it is great as Georgia can come along and be part of the adventure.
