Welcome to Devonport on a sunny Monday morning!! After having a few hours sleep - I slept like a baby, it was time to leave the ship and head to our campsite for 3 days. Discovery Parks Devonport is just off the water - you can see the ferry come and go plus the ships with containers. The park is clean and tidy. Have to say having the Bandidos South West Victoria in the camping ground was um comforting!!!

Devonport is a nice city full of old houses and also the new. The older houses lining the foreshore are just beautiful - well maintained and gardens to die for!

We have done a small amount of walking whilst here along the foreshore taking in a historical walk which was right by the camping ground. The views back across Bass Strait were great - clear blue oceans to be seen for miles. We also took in the Vietnam Vet War Memorial overlooking Bass Strait. They have some great walks here along the foreshore around to Don - a small suburb on the outskirts of Devonport.

Its a nice place to base yourself for the first few days once getting off the Spirit as you can not bring any fruit or veg and also honey into Tasmania so is great to stock up and get in any rest you did not get overnight!

We also had some of Trent's favourite birds visiting in the campsite - Black Cockatoos.
