Policemans Point #2

Policemans Point has been a beautiful spot surrounded by the Ansens Bay and Mount William National Park. There is an abundance of bird and other wild life here. I was freaked out that there was a Tassie Tiger watching us but alas no it was just a black rabbit and a Paddymelon!! They are not too friendly – actually they were as freaked out by me as I was of them first up!
If you are into bird watching, we have been graced with Sea Eagles, Hooded Pluvers (apparently endangered in parts of Oz), Turns and also some endangered breeding birds (only 10 pairs left in this part of Tassie).
We tried every day to catch any of the elusive fish (mackerel, bream, flathead and trevally) that allegedly swim and live here!! The lady we befriended, Gail managed to catch bream and a flathead!! So yes the dreaded fishing curse is upon us!!
We loved this spot so much we ended up staying 6 days. The only downer has been the wind. We have been overcome with wind for the past 6 weeks. Here is hoping when we head inland that we will get away from it even if only for a couple of hours!!
There are of course other beautiful locations to stay in the Bay of Fires but after hearing from Gail that Cosy Corner had been where her setup was infested with rats we decided we liked our spot better!!
