After a wild windy night and very little sleep we decide to take a drive. Heading north from Arthur River we checked out Green Point and then to Woolnorth where the wind farm is situated. From here a short drive to Smithton to then follow the Tarkine Scenic drive.
This drive is a circuit through the Tarkine Forest. Was spectacular with the rain and mist amongst the tree tops. Stopping at a sink hole we read that Lake Chisholm, also a sink hole turned Lake was accessible. We stopped to take a look in the hope of spotting some platypus but alas it wasn’t to be!
This drive has many signs out for Tassie Devils as we have been told the west coast is the best place to spot them.
The drive itself took us a good half day with stops here and there. Crossing the Arthur River at several points along the way. Most of the road is all sealed.
