Leaving Richmond we headed into Bothwell to check out the Oldest Golf Course in the Southern Hemisphere- well actually it was really just a museum as the golf course was full of hay bales!!  Beautiful drive from Bothwell through the high country into Tarraleah.

I love this place, why, well it has cute  colorful cottages and is just so quiet!  Tarraleah was established around 1916 when they started to build the many hydro schemes. Many Europeans worked on the schemes and Tarraleah was a bustling town until the worked dried up. Point to note, they had to bring the kiwis in to help then get things back on track when they ran into financial and engineering trouble - who would have thought!

Waddamana is also an old hydro village but you are able to go inside and view what is now the museum but used to be the internal workings of the hydro electric. Really interesting place to visit. It is also very close the The Great Lakes and amongst the Tasmanian High Country. Interesting change to the landscape and certainly cooler!

Derwent Bridge is home to The Wall.  We came here about 12 years ago when The Wall has first opened and wanted to visit again to see the finished work. OMG the hours over 10 years that the artist Greg Duncan has put it, chiseling and hand carving huge panels of Huon Pine is phenomenal. This place really leaves you with your mouth open as the art work is unbelievable. You can not take photos in here but you must visit. $15 per adult is worth it.
