Dip Falls and Big Tree

We took the scenic route through the Tarkine Forest to get to Dip Falls from Stanley. It’s about a 30 minutes direct drive if following the standard roads.

Really great drive through the forest though with the sun trying to push through the trees. The falls themselves are pretty impressive- be better had there been some rain. There are 2 platforms to view the Falls from - one looking down and one looking up.

There are lots of hexagonal shapes in the Basalt rock which have been carved out over time.

From the Falls we went to see the Big Tree - 62m High, 16m around the girth and around 400 years old. Really amazing to see yet another tree that has stood the rest of time.

Both of these were worth a visit if you are passing through.
